| 07/14/04 - Integra has introduced the DPC-8.5 six disc DVD changer, which is compatible with nearly every disc format in use today, including DVD-Audio and multichannel SACD. The player features a broad array of custom installation capabilities, superior audio and video performance, the company's exclusive Direct Progressive technology, and an ultra-quiet six-disc carousel tray with a unique blue illumination light for easier disc recognition in low-light situations.
Designed specifically for custom installation applications, the unit includes both BNC and RCA component video connections, rear-panel bidirectional RS-232 port, and IR in/out jacks for seamless integration with home theater equipment and whole-home control systems.
The DPC-8.5 features high quality Wolfson®192-kHz/24-bit audio DACs with Integra's Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) for smoother, more detailed analog output. The company's exclusive Direct Digital Path ensures maximum integrity of Dolby Digital, DTS and PCM audio signals to the rear-panel digital outputs. There is a complete multichannel analog audio output, including a defeatable second set of surround channel connections for use with 7.1-channel home theater systems. All outputs are simultaneously active, including a 2-channel downmix of SACD and DVD-Audio at the stereo outputs.
For video processing, the DPC-8.5 features a sophisticated 108-Mhz/12-bit video D/A converter for superior clarity and detail. Integra's Direct Progressive capability reduces the amount of video processing needed and yields a more accurate progressive scan picture. In addition to the component video output, there are also two composite and two S-video connections for compatibility with nearly all televisions, and all video outputs are continuously active.
As a carousel changer, the DPC-8.5 offers a wide range of playback modes, including true multi-disc random playback, even with intermingled DVD-A, SACD, and MP3-encoded discs. There are also three playback chain modes, for CD-only, DVD-only, or All discs.
