| 10/23/02 - Integra has introduced its DPS-5.3 single-disc DVD player and DPC-5.3 five disc DVD changer, each delivering premium features and performance normally found in models costing much more. Each has progressive scan component video output, and audiophile grade DACs for superior audio reproduction. Like all Integra products, they are specifically designed with a unique set of features to integrate with the most demanding home theater systems and custom installations. The 5.3-series' video processing circuitry features 27 MHz/10-bit video DACs andprogressive scan component output for optimal image quality on high definition displays. Rear panel composite and S-Video outputs round out the players' video connectivity options.Audio processing uses 192 kHz/24-bit DACs, and Integra's Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) is used to generate smooth and noise-free analog output signals. When used with a digital surround receiver, Integra's Direct Digital Path provides a direct signal path to the coaxial digital output using a heavy gauge shielded coaxial cable. This bypasses the noisy PC board traces used in lesser players, resulting in a superior digital output. The 5.3-series DVD players are fully compatible with Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound formats, and can handle CDs, CD-R/RWs, VCDs, and MP3 encoded data CDs. Rear IR inputs and outputs, and bi-directional RS-232 ports are included, making the players perfectly suited to use with integrated home control systems. The DPS-5.3 DVD player and DPC-5.3 five-disc DVD changer are currently available at retail prices of $400 and $500, respectively.
