| 09/20/07 - HDMI v.1.3a, 1080p HQV Reon-VX™ processing, Dolby TrueHD/DTS HD decoding, HD Radio, XM & Sirius Satellite Ready, Ethernet and USB Connections.
Integra introduced the THX Ultra2 Certified DTR-8.8, a high-end A/V receiver designed for custom installation applications, at the 2007 CEDIA Expo here today. It features HDMI v. 1.3a switching, HQV Reon-VX video processing, complete 7.1-channel processing including onboard decoding for lossless and HD audio formats, Microsoft PlaysForSure technology, XM, SIRIUS, and HD Radio compatibility and an extensive suite of multizone/multisource and systems integration control features.
The DTR-8.8 features four HDMI inputs and two outputs, and is fully compatible with HDMI v. 1.3a, including 1080p and Deep Color™ 36-bit video signals. It is also among the first receivers available to include onboard decoding for Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital HD, and DTS-HD Master Audio, making it fully capable of exploiting the high definition audio capabilities of the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray disc formats. Each channel employs premium quality 192 kHz/24-bit Burr Brown audio DACs and Integra's VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) for dynamic, low-distortion reproduction at all output levels.
Integra's DTR-8.8 is the company's first A/V receiver to include the acclaimed HQV™ Reon-VX video processing. This sophisticated IC chip-based technology provides current state-of-the-art video scaling and deinterlacing capabilities, including upscaling of all video sources up to 1080p for output over the HDMI connection.
The DTR-8.8's seven amplification modules each feature a new dual push-pull configuration, coupled with a three-stage inverted Darlington circuit for outstanding efficiency and high current with very low distortion. Each channel is capable of delivering 140 watts into an 8-Ohm load, and the rear surround amplifier channels can also be reconfigured for bi-amplification of the front L/R channels. Additionally, the rear surround amplifier modules can also be reconfigured for bridged operation with the front L/R channels, delivering up to 220 watts per channel to the front L/R speakers.
The DTR-8.8 also Integra's first receiver to feature Microsoft's PlaysForSure Certification which incorporates a number of features for integration with a home network and digital audio sources. The rear-panel Ethernet connection allows MP3, WMA, WAV, and M4A files to be streamed from PCs and media servers on a home network. If the network is connected to the Internet, users can also easily access and enjoy Internet Radio stations and store up to 20 presets. Additionally, the DTR-8.8 includes a front panel USB port for use with mass storage devices and other PlaysForSure compatible devices, allowing users to easy access an entire library of digital audio files.
For simplified setup, the DTR-8.8 includes Audyssey's acclaimed MultEQ XT room acoustics correction, the most powerful built-in solution available for countering room distortion in dedicated home theaters. This technology uses an included microphone to detect and configure speakers in the room, and then adjusts each channel's level, delay, and crossover settings to best suit the room's acoustics. By incorporating measurements at up to eight points in the listening room, Audyssey MultEQ provides both frequency response and time domain corrections throughout the entire listening area, rather than just at a single position. The DTR-8.8 is also Audyssey MultEQ Pro capable- allowing custom installers even more room calibration precision and flexibility.
The DTR-8.8 includes a built-in HD Radio tuner as well as standard AM/FM reception capabilities. It is also “SAT Ready” with connections for both XM and Sirius satellite radio which can be simultaneously active. It also includes onboard Neural THX processing for multichannel surround programming on XM HD and other Neural THX sources. Finally, there are 40 presets for AM, FM, HD Radio, XM, or Sirius stations.
The Integra DTR-8.8 includes a comprehensive package of features specifically tailored to the needs of custom installers, including an Ethernet port for integration with Network-based control systems such as AMX Device Discovery and Crestron E-Control. It also includes bi-directional RS-232, RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) system control integration over HDMI, three programmable 12-volt triggers, dual IR inputs, and three unique assignable IR code sets. Lockable customized dealer settings can be independently stored for easy recall, making it simple for installers to maintain complex installations.
The DTR-8.8 boasts exceptional multizone capabilities, including fixed and variable line level outputs with subwoofer for two additional zones. Zone 2 also includes both composite and HD quality component video outputs, as well as independent controls. Zone 2 and Zone 3 also include balance controls as well as maximum and power-on volume settings. Finally, Integra's Powered Zone 2 capability allows the installer to reconfigure the rear surround channels to drive the second zone speakers while still reproducing 5.1-channel surround sound in the main zone.
The Integra DTR-8.8 is now available from Integra dealers with a suggested retail price of $2,400.
